                                    The content of the movie Siri Parakum is very important.  The childhood of "Kalikala Sahitya Sarvajna Pandita" Maharaja Parakramabahu II, who reigned in Sri Lanka, enhanced our cultural values, and played a special role in our literary art, wrote great literary works such as Kavsilumina, which includes the Kusadavata Kavya, and he spent his time in the temple, in the company of the lords, and gaining knowledge of the Book of Patha.  The information about the exemplary life he lived in harmony while practicing art and the information during the time until his coronation has been very aesthetically detailed.  Just as King Dutugemunu left the royal palace and lived in a village at a young age, Prince Parakramabahu spent his childhood in a village called Dambadeniya in Paduvas to escape from his enemies.

                                   We used to read this story in the Sahitya Pata book as the story of "How Appua became King".  That news is very beautiful.  But today's children do not know that history.  Nowadays, only a handful of students study history as a subject.  We have to tell the children of today that our Sri Lanka was called an "oriental granary" and that agriculture and farming were our main occupations.  The concept of "Village - Temple - Lake - Dagabai" had come to life then.  Because of that, the virtues of tolerance, kindness, unity, harmony and good values ​​were rooted in the people of those days. 

      

                                       The lives of our villagers who are in contact with everyone who lives according to Buddhism are comforting.  How valuable it is to make our children see that social pattern.  Today, there are many children who have not seen a "field", "a threshing floor", "a buffalo" and "sea sam".  They have read about "C Sam" only from the book.  Today, they have to see how the machines weave C.  Somaratne Dissanayake understood what our children did not see and gave these examples to our society.

                                         It takes several weeks to teach a child a lesson with such detailed information.  Somaratne's effort to provide that understanding is really to be commended.

                                        The songs and music of the film are of excellent quality.  This film shows the genius of Padamala Somarathne, whose lyrics are simple, smooth, meaningful and lyrical in a way that fits the theme of the story and background scenes.  Also, the light that Rohana Weerasinghe has given to this film by using music in a rhythmic way to match the lyrics is very commendable.  "Heenatigala Premadasayan" who worked as the art director here, has made a very successful contribution by creating successful backdrops by preparing the clothes suitable for each character.

                                       In choosing the actors and actresses, the director's dedication to bringing in both veteran and novice child actors is commendable.  The character of "Punchi Parakum" prince, who lives in his own world like a child and a child, behaves freely and effortlessly.  It makes the hearts of the fans go crazy.

        

                                       He is like the soul of this film.  The performances of the four child actors who play other roles are also very strong and excellent.  Also, the acting skills of Wimal Jayakodi, Jayani Senanayake and Chandani Seneviratne bring a lot of power to this film.  The genius of Ashan Dias, who plays the role of Padaraja Senavi, also provides an iron strength to this film.  Also, Akila Dhanuddara, who plays the role of young Prince Parakum, is very talented.  His live performance will never be forgotten by the audience.  Also the performance of Sirimal Ethan and Kalu Ethan is interesting.  The acting skills of Sampath Thennakone and Giriraj Kaushalya, who played the roles of the two lords, are also at a very high level.  Parakum's and Sirimal Etana's love world, beauty and charm are just as sublime.  Even after becoming a royal prince, he did not forget his girlfriend and adoptive parents, and he should be praised for showing respect to his aunt, who gave him protection.  What Somarathnean has told the world through this film is very meaningful.

                                         This should be shown especially to the children. Hatred, anger and restlessness should be eliminated through childish satan.  Children's lives should be meaningful by including elements such as aesthetics and art, literature, entertainment and harmony.  Then we can make our future generation a group of working people with feelings and humanity.
